Born and raised in Taiwan, Dr. YiFang Chu is the Director of Nutrition at PepsiCo. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and holds an adjunct professorship at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Chu also serves on the Advisory Board for the USDA Center of Excellence for Nutrition, Wellness, and Quality of Life, contributing to efforts aimed at improving the health and well-being of underserved and minority populations.
Dr. Chu is the editor of two books: Oats Nutrition and Technology and Coffee: Emerging Health Effects and Disease Prevention. He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Through his role at PepsiCo and extensive research contributions, Dr. Chu has played a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of whole grains, particularly oats, and their impact on human health. His work spans basic nutritional science to public health applications, influencing the scientific community, consumer food choices, and industry practices.
